Clifford A. Strain

A ray of sunshine and kindness left this world when Clifford A. Strain passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Strain, Jr.; mother, Jane Mattox Strain; great nephew Jackson Bennett Fink and brother, John Strain. He is survived by his brothers, Edward Strain of Cornelia, GA, Nathan Strain of Tulahoma, TN and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, and cousins. Clifford resided in Statesboro, GA for much of his life and was a hard-working, contributing citizen. He worked for 25 years at several businesses including Hardee’s, Taco Bell, and Kroger. He loved music including Elvis, The Beatles, and any gospel music. “The Three Stooges”, “The Wizard of Oz”, “John Wayne” cowboy movies, and Elvis movies brought him great joy. He was a “neat freak” that rose early in the morning to ensure everything was in its place. He enjoyed yard work and loved to eat shrimp. Clifford had a kind soul and possessed an open heart. He was an example to show other human beings love and acceptance.He will be greatly missed by his many friends and family. The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff at the Roanoke Rehabilitation Nursing Home facility. Their staff is an example to follow. The family hosted a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6 at the First Methodist Church in Hogansville. Condolences may be expressed at www.mckibbenfuneralhome.com

Alfredo “Freddie” Dunson

Mr. Alfredo “Freddie” Dunson was born January 12, 1960 to the late Bennie and Macaria Dunson in Juarez, Mexico. At an early age, he united with the Friendship Baptist Church. Freddie was employed by Franklin Aluminum for 29 years until his health failed. He was an avid outdoorsman and had a passion for fishing, hunting, riding his tractor, bush hogging, and planting a garden. On Saturday, August 27, 2016, at the age of 56, Alfredo departed this life for Eternal Rest at Pruitt HealthCare of Franklin, Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Cominia Cassaus.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Edith Poole Dunson; two sons, Donovan Dunson and Frederick (Kristin) Dunson; one daughter, Jessica (Jaime) Washington; six grandchildren, Travion Dunson, Abigail Dunson, Bobby Ballentin, Connor Autrey, Breaden Young, and Caleal Washington; two sisters, Maggie (Joe) Mangram, Maude Dunson, brother, Benito (Kathy) Dunson; sisters-in-law, Surlinda (Johnny) White, Judy Cook, Shari (Samuel) Fluellen, Juanita (James) Chelcy; brother-in-law, Charles (Lorraine) Poole; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends; and a special friend, Sue Parker and family. The Celebration of Life Service was held on Saturday at 1:00 PM at Friendship Baptist Church (Centralhatchee) Franklin, Georgia. Rev. Anthony Pierce officiated. Burial followed at the Church Cemetery.

Paul Williams

Mr. Paul Williams was born October 5, 1951 in Troup County, Georgia to the late, Robert Lee Williams and Annie Doris Edmondson Williams. At an early age, he attended Cannan Baptist Church. Throughout the years, he worked as a Logger. Quietly and peacefully, he departed this earthly realm and entered into Eternal Rest on Saturday, August 27, 2016. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his companion, Ms. Mary Carter; brother, Mr. Joe Dowell; and great nephew, Mr. Douglas Cameron.

He leaves to mourn his passing, two brothers, John and Marie Cameron and Forrest Dowell, both of LaGrange, GA; nieces, Ms. Katina Cameron, Ms. Susie Dowell, and Ms. Jill Dowell; nephews, Joe Dowell, Jr. Seth Johnson, Jessie Johnson; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and close friends, the “Town Road Old Men Gang”. The Celebration of Life Service was held on Friday at 4:00 in the Chapel of Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.

Charles Joe Cameron

Mr. Charles Joe Cameron was born July 12, 1955 in LaGrange, Georgia to the late, Charlie Joe Cameron and Bula Mae Lennon Cameron. On Sunday, August 28, 2016, Charles passed away at his home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Will Cameron, Dora Hunt, and Willie and Viola Cameron; aunts and uncles, Ola Mae Persons, Catherine Dixon, Rebecca Lennon, E. C. Lennon, Emmitt Cameron, Junior Cameron, and Jessie Lee Laye. He leaves to cherish his memories, sisters and brothers, Larry Cameron, LaGrange, GA; Katrine Laye, Franklin, GA; Shirley Harris and Sally McGhee of LaGrange, GA; special niece, Kimberly Maddox; nieces, April Walton, Brittney Laye; nephew, Denquavi Laye; special cousin, LaKesha Dixon; aunts and uncles, Willie L. Lennon, Geneva, NY; Rose Lennon, Newnan, GA; Rosa Lee Cameron, Franklin, GA; Boot and Odessa Person, Franklin, GA; Louise Woods, Newnan, GA; and a host of cousins and friends. The Celebration of Life Service was held on Thursday at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
