Financial managers will generally make more money than financial advisors, and they will also need more work experience before landing a position. However, they sometimes do not need to have as much academic experience as a global financial analyst should have and can often find an appropriate position with only a bachelor’s degree.

He or she will most likely need to have an aptitude for working amid diversity. A financial manager will likely have to deal with, and sometimes direct the actions of, both clients and employees who are from another cultural background. He will need to communicate well and bring together information coming from diverse sources to best determine how to carry out the complex task of managing an international company.

Above a financial manager at a global finance company is a finance director who will be responsible for using his or her leadership skills to carry out tasks such as analyzing financial results, develop budget and cash flow models, controlling company needs such as payroll, control of expenses, acquiring the appropriate business insurance, etc.
